A Mist of gray shades a Miss in black of a chill night, dockside by the bay; Green and red lights, blurred in coming gray, guides the ships back but none docks tonight Pale cheeks now streaks tears cool not the blood, his touch flamed her, and now he’s gone weeks, Autumn winds chill she steams emotion and longing broods, empty his to fill Black lady goes, her wait continues It’s not tonight, when she does not know. I know this wait, this poem simple on surface and complex on reading second time. Each time I read your words feel more. |

"A Mist of gray shades a Miss in black" Heavy description. Upon reading it a second time, I felt the homonym, Missed, ringing through, too. Much enjoyed. Sadelite |
