Speak, Poet, Speak

'tis not but terms,
these words' impart
that thrill and steal
a lady's heart

but truth be told,
O friends of lexis
some spoke longer
in forming nexus ....

'tis kindness sought,
when words to bower
rock you gentle
in darkest hour

harbor not verbiage
of deepening fright
but gentlest thoughts
in creped twilight

as in the dark
the hoot owl brings
thoughts to refresh you
upon his wing

no mere man,
nor mortal be,
but soft of touch
'tis immortality....

now sire, now
rest thy eyes
as you’re assured
in dawn's pure light

to seek again
the words of one
for such as you
shall write till done…

Aye...  M'lady speaks most eloquently.

I enjoyed it all,  particularly these lines

now sire, now
rest thy eyes
as you’re assured
in dawn's pure light

to seek again
the words of one
for such as you
shall write till done…

And now the poet's mind
shall dwell the evening light
and surely shall he find
the words,  now chose to write.

I love this, Lady.  You know how I love rhyme...and this read so beautifully, I had to read it aloud a few times!

Can I count on another tomorrow?

I'm sure you must already know that I LOVE this.  Everything you write is beautiful and makes me sigh.

So it shall be,
please rest assured;
the silent night
that you've endured
shall end. Your wish
is now ensured.
So spare your wrath,
for you've procured
the poet's word;
with that secured
your loneliness
will soon be cured.
