In the End the Flowers Die

Upon a black horizon,
a tired sun will set,
and all the wilted flowers
on the hills will soon forget
the shelter that the sun provided,
and the warmth that it had shared.
But now they go the night alone,
cold, saddened and scared,
for the night leaves them to think about
the things they could have done,
when the day was there to protect them,
in the warm light of the sun.
But now they have the night alone,
and so they wilt away.
At night all of the demons play
in the minds of those that stay awake.
So when the sun comes crawling
up the clouds of a new day,
remember that not everyone
will see it the same way.
To them, the sun will be gone again,
to leave them alone at night,
all by themselves inside their thoughts,
only their prayers to recite.
Nobody wants to be alone,
but often there's no chioce.
So in the end these flowers,
wilt away without a voice,
without someone to call their own,
nobody by their side.
Nobody to seek refuge in,
no way to make the pain subside,
with nobody to turn to
when the sun falls from the sky,
to leave them in the darkness.
In the end the flowers die.

Wow beautifully written
Hopefully we can all find our way out of the darkness and back into the sunlight before we wilt away.

Guitarteck
This was so heartfelt. And even though it made me sad, it also made me wonder about the thousands of others in this situation tonight. I am not alone I guess!

Wow! I'm glad I stumbled into this...I greatly enjoyed your writing...I think they would be great lyrics to either an acoustic-guitar solo, or a rock ballad...

Very impressive write

Best wishes
