She dreams of a love in a far off land, Where someday he'll ask her father If it wills you, please sire, may I in marriage have her hand? Lilacs, and Jasmine fill her room, But she wishes for his presence, in loom. Bathe him in the curls that grace her like his spell. Linger with him 'til sleep upon him fells. And she prays, but somehow knows He will love the whisper of sonnets and lullabies to softly fill his ears, And at days end, these will claim his fears. Tell her, he can, of his days follies, and weep if he feels he must. He knows in her, his words, he can trust. She will find in him all things jolly, All that he does to be just. She knows he’s gentle A hunter’s heart, he has not To harm gentle, unsuspecting ones, is not his way. Spiral he does, in spirit, to think of this, Having to bring harm, holds no charm, His gentle spirit sees this as abyss’s kiss. Cymbals, and chimes, she would learn to play for him. They will give to him dance. As he reaches for her hand, Her fingertips welcome loves chance. Daisies in wreath, that crowns her head, as they move in the sunlit meadow, upon her head, prance. As he smells the sweet perfume, the essence of her will please him. She is the music he longs for. Her look into his eyes, as if a child. She is shy, for he is, in his manner, meek, and gently, humbly, mild. Her father seeing this fine man in play, Calls him to his side. You want her hand...is this what you say? Yes you may, in this family you may reside. His heart is glad, and so is she! He can't see he, without she. And she can't see she, without he. All are happy in this tale of meant to be!! Thanks Passing Shadow--I never could get the graphic to work. I wondered if you could see the image over the poem from your computer? Love, ![]() Terri~ ![]() |

Hi Terri ![]() I really like your poem-story. It's a very good story. You know that I love romantic poems. ![]() I can feel that you're getting frustrated with putting the font style and images on your poems. I know because I was exactly the same way. If I hadn't had Nancy, Marti and some of the others help me, I still wouldn't be able to do it. I looked into "edit" on your post to see if I could help. On the "font", it should be.... font face="Monotype Corsiva"...with the brackets at the beginning and end, instead of "font type". Now, I haven't figured out about your image, yet. You can go into my post, though, to see if you would like. I would have e-mailed you all this, but don't know your e-mail address now. Mine is [email protected], if you want to e-mail me. I hope this helps, sweet lady. ![]() Hugs to you ![]() Ethel |

Thanks to all of you...These comments mean much coming from all of you wonderful writers!!! ![]() Ethel-Thank you so much. I am glad you liked this. I love the days of old. I appreciate what you just did for me. I have been using font type instead of font face. That's where I went wrong. I still have problem with the image. Bless ya bunches for the help. ![]() Seymour Tabin- Thank you sir, I am honored! One of the masters of the poetic word would stop, and pay me such a comment. Wow..hugs, and more hugs. Ethome- Thank you I am glad you liked. If you would like try back later the graphic may be there to enhance this with the two loves of days of old theme. Love to you all, Terri~ ![]() |
