Impossible Dream

I don't feel like letting go
Of the dream I once believed
Maybe I'll never see
What it is to set me free
But still I dream
The impossible dream in me

I've always wondered why
My wings could never fly
Pinned back by unwelcome hands
Not to spread across the land
I float so high above it all
Such a long way, a long way to fall

And this day I feel it more
Time has passed through an open door
But I'm dreaming the impossible dream
In my heart - so naive.
And in my mind I still believe
That the place I am, the place I see
Will become the dream I want it to be
