I cursed at the fumble of my tongue as heels clicked the cool night. Sensually silhouetted by cheap neon, passing lights of scurrying signs for hire. You were there, bruising a piece of earth beneath black stiletto heels where time stood shivering at the fragrance of you outside a window. The stark stare of mannequin eyes following, weeping to be free and dance the dusk to dawn. And I, prince of my dreams, dealer of my destiny stand silent. The clink of lonely change telling a sad tale as shutters ride squeaking wheels to the cold walk. Tomorrow....as pigeons roost the fading sunlight and neon again hums the still air....mannequins shall wait, just as I to dance the dusk to dawn. |

Dang Barry...you're writing continues to grow and grow so quickly. You've become so very polished...the 'sighs' come automatically. What say I put on some WS and we dance the tango? ~Smiles & Hugs, Nancy~ ~Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile~ |
