Time makes distance hold to bounds, Invisible arms Most times, spread us wide. * But here the joy of fruit Blends two as same Sitting in sun; They become homogenized. The cream of age, And skim of youth Blending into one. * Sitting, Park-benched In August Eating peaches, The color of summer. Sweet syrup on the run, Down an age-wrinkled chin And out, the bitten fleshy sides Of a childish, too big bite. * No use to hide in prim disguise When, lusciousness in life Holds two as one, and makes These women, old and young Both same, by peach delight. |

This is very interesting, ice - There's really no such thing as age differentiation, is there? I think you're right... |

ice...This is delightful, my friend! No peaches here right now, but I think maybe I could find a squishy plum and recapture a bit of my childhood with it. |

Nan.. perhaps not in a mystical sense, In this poem I tried to level the field of transition (age differences) with peaches. **** Marty.. Your comment reminded me of a poem by Dr. Williams I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold **** Froggy Sorry, froggy, the peaches are all gone and as you can see above, so are the plums. **** Enchantress Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed reading it...:-) **** Littlewing "Lovely" is asuch a beautiful word, and a smile is my most favorite gesture....ty **** icebox Thank you, The sharing part is my pleasure. **** garysgirl It is nice to know that a poem goes beyond words sometimes and enters tactily into a peson who reads it...:-) *** Thank to all for the nice comments.. Hugs all around >>>ice<<< |
