Evil reborn, darkness now approaching, Dark armour heeds a booming call. The Emperor of Darkness summons his soldiers, In the name of wealth for all. The benevolent old King knows he's no match, Though his noblest warrior is due back soon. "He'll teach these knaves of honour and war! He'll ride by the light of the moon!" Thus the knights all watch for hours on end, And on the moonlit road they hear the sound. Horses' hooves approaching quickly now, Beating on the dusty dry ground. And in the distance, their cavalier comes, A champion in glowing armour of gold; He wields a sword and shield in battle, And powers from the days of old. "I've come, my liege, to fight this threat, To protect our home, our land! I'll show these ne'er-do-wells true power, If I must slay them with but my own hand!" The hero rides off, and morning comes, A message with the sun: "The cavalier was lost to battle, But to him the battle was won." What is life without poetry and adventure? |

I enjoyed this. I would have liked more detail on the battle, but this is good. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

I wanted to try something different, so I put less emphasis on the final battle. But I could write a battle one to go with this one. ![]() What is life without poetry and adventure? |
