Slowly the striptease,
she bares more each day
revealing herself
beneath the camoflauge
that trimmed her green.
Blessed and cursed
by November's breeze,
soon to wear the woes of winter,
arthritic and spinsterly
in all probablility
will survive her fallen ones
with the grace of an aging goddess.
Does she really have much choice?
