Oh, Christopher ~*Marge Tindal*~  Christopher had a dream - the world was round Ain't that just the dangdest thought ? Sold it to a Queen in Spain and his idea - she bought ! Sailed off across the ocean on ships that numbered three The Pinta, the Niña and the Santa Maria He came upon a new shore where there lived a quiet Native Indian breed Then took all they had to offer from their harvest of seed Word spread quickly to other horizons this was the land of opportunity They came in droves and I suppose they conquered in their greed So that's why we celebrate and feed our faces with glee ? Hi Marge When I seen the picture of the ships I thought of the visit from THE Tall Ships this summer. The NINA was one of the ships that came and I have a picture of her. A real beauty.I thought she gorgeous even before I knew her name. Liked the poem. Love Bon-Bon  |

hehehhehe, oft I've thought of those brave men, thinking the world was flat and yet depending on their captain for their guide. what Faith, or was it, scared to ever loven death? Liked this poem a lot. Thank you |

Thank you all for letting me vent the real story we don't get from the history books~ The American Native Indians of history have always gotten a raw deal ... and just thinking about the fact that they were here BEFORE the arrival of the conquerors from afar sometimes really gets to me~ Appreciate the replies~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Dear Marge: I enjoyed the poem, but you are certainly right about the American Indians beiong here long before Columbus, or the Vikings "discovered" America.
