You won't be sorry you love me

You wrote me this beautiful letter,
With a marker you inked it in blue.
You finally told me you love me,
And you believe my heart to be true.

My day couldn't be any brighter.
More joy my heart can't withstand.
I long for the day, I hope soon it comes,
When you love will give me your hand.

These past few weeks have been hard on my heart.
Sometimes I wondered how would I get through.
I had no choice but to put it all on the line,
For I know, I could not live without you.

Still your afraid of the way that I was.
Afraid that into the past I'll regress.
There's almost nothing of that in me now,
Every day, I find less and less.

I make you this promise, before God I avow;
That the rest of the years of my life will be spent,
Doing all of the things that I before should have done.
In an effort to my conduct repent.
