THE CONTRARINESS OF YOUTH The contrariness of youth in a body now grown old stands a pillar fortified by stubborn willfulness and bears the weight of soul centered and within a coloured glow surround of lasting permanence. Turned and spun internally into immortal truth the wisdom of age faces north, south, east and west, and feels the pain of past, the wayward rocky paths, revolve into the light of the deep unconscious mind. Set and sealed in concrete, stone, no movement left or right, patient is the hand of love through storms of disbelief but everybody knows how love comes and then must go when eroded is the soul by what the eyes behold. And so I close my eyes to the nameless and unknown and stand stubborn in the breeze of a timeless need to hold aloft my love of you forever till I fold the contrariness of youth into dust of my old age. It's Sunday! And so much depth in this poem tells me you had a pondering night. Good morning, Helen. |

Thank you Helen for sharing the honest beauty of your heart and soul. I look forward to reading your Sunday stories, I always have and always will. |

Ahem...feels like I walked in on a private moment...walks away saying to self...I wish I hadn't done that. WOW...that is so good to bring a person to such an emotion to feel that moved by it. WOW seems to be all I can think of. So intense! Love, Terri~ Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

Thank you all so much for reading and for your kind comments. I very much appreciate them all and, yes, perhaps a private moment but that which is unable to be said in private. |
