From the wreckage of this wasted summer I could sit and sing you the blues But I’d just be lying If I told you I’d let it get me down And there’s nothing wasted about this lesson If you listen you’ll learn it too Crash I hit back down to earth Why do I always bury myself When things get too much All I see is black and blue Beat yourself up Won’t pick yourself up I can’t help you If you don’t help yourself And this whole New Year is coming I can’t wait to meet you all over again Because you know we’ve grown up We changed this time More than we ever did before They’re all gonna envy us We get the fun of new friends Like they’ll never have Crash I hit back down to earth Why do I always bury myself When things get too much All I see is black and blue Beat yourself up Won’t pick yourself up I can’t help you If you don’t help yourself But it’s all right now We have ourselves We picked ourselves up We’re good together The new me and you Crash We can rub it in their faces Just like they did us I can’t believe I only just realised That what we’ve got is better Than anything they could ever have Now I’m seeing the world from another place But the one thing that will never change Is your beautiful face.
