Sharing Pockets (A Poem for Eight-Eleven) Come walk with me, share pockets and laughter, I mean somewhere out beyond where people notice, someplace warm with green and sand, where folks think nothing of two people falling on the grass but still in step still sharing pockets full of love. Come walk with me, leave the rest of it home, I mean, somewhere out beyond the past, beyond the life of phones and E-mail protocols, where wrists aren’t bound by watches and tongues aren’t bound by anything, where falling on the grass is just being in step, and pockets full of love are open to all pilgrims. Come walk with me share pockets, laughter, life; I mean, somewhere just like this. We’ll make the present a present and open it together, pass the past and when the evening comes we’ll find a hill somewhere, a cool place over water where we’ll never notice the sunset and come home in starlight with our pockets full of love. Ed Sounds like a lovely place to be for a couple of hundred years. Something about pockets is so innocent and carefree...and sometimes a pocket holds a little treasure, like this poem, something to put your hand on to remind you to smile. ![]() |

This Is one of the most beautiful verses I have ever read... Today, 8-11 is my daughter's birthday... I am sending this to her..she will love it as much as I do. Thank you for this treasure. ~Summertime Smiles, Nancy~ ~The breeze that kissed you on the face, |

I couldn't think of a name for this poem....somebody wished me a happy eight-eleven this morning, so I just called it that without waiting around for my naming machine to grind one out...... Can anybody suggest one? ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Your "naming machine"? Send me one of those, would you? Enjoyed this, ratle. Nicely rhythm'd. I could use the freedom . . . and the consortium. s.a.g. |

When a poem is this beautiful, it goes straight into the memory books, whatever the title might be. *S* And I agree with Enchantress... except that I'd expand her comment to include the entire poem being one of the most beautiful I've ever read. *S* You have truly penned a treasure. *S* a cool place over water where we’ll never notice the sunset and come home in starlight with our pockets full of love. It doesn't get better... or more romantic... than this. *S* Beautiful work, my friend... yes! *S* |

Ed~ I am pleasured to tell you that this is 'greeting card' stuff~ AND THAT IS A HIGH COMPLIMENT~ ![]() I love the idea of 'Share Pockets' for the title~ Intriguing enough to bring more in to read ... intriguing enough to cause me to buy it in a store~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

where falling on the grass is just being in step, and pockets full of love are open to all pilgrims. For a moment or two... or a lifetime... what a wonderful place to be. *S* This shares such joy... so beautifully... yes! *S* |

where falling on the grass is just being in step, and pockets full of love are open to all pilgrims. If this place is real, keep it to yourself, cuz if you don't, the entire PIP community will be there....hmmmm, wouldn't that be a riot... Thanks Ed for a magnficent journey |
