I Heard Patience

With benediction, I asked for my will
Then listened for reply entranced in still
I heard this murmur faint within my head
Patience uttering soft words I heard said

Eternity held countless moons this night
Tho’ with  patience, I will ever hold tight
Anxious once more, I beseeched stars above
“Allow his heart acceptance of my love”

Patience spoke louder, a cry in my mind,
“His love you shall not nor shall ever find
For ‘twas not his love patience pled your wait
But lover’s lesson taught of will and fate

When your eyes passed in shine of his star
You strayed from fate’s course to place afar
Where your will harked his words never said
And by your hand, your love for him was fed"

What a lesson...
even if Patience had to get
a little loud...

sometimes we trip over the hammering
of our heart...
no wonder she yelled!  LOL...

very good, Patricia!

and can’t help but wonder
when it was
that you grew up
I want to hold on to you
just a moment longer
I want to hear those first words
and watch those first stumbling steps

Patricia, this is beautiful and
a lesson all of us could refresh.

I especially liked the idea that our destiny is not always what we perceive it to be.
A lesson that hopefully is learned gently, even as the bruise is sometimes very deep.
Wonderful expressions here. TD
