Beguiled by night I soared aloft And left behind my hearth and croft I rode the winds of star filled skies And heard the earth bound creatures sighs I felt the breeze swoop low and soft And held in trust, this wing of loft The sun went down and flung me nigh Beguiled by night I flew the sky With stars surround I sweep and soar Breathing deep and wanting more In float of thought I'm lifted high And watch as earthbound creatures cry The moon arose and in its light I felt the calling of this flight Beguiled, I soared and dipped anew And felt the strength of all things true I pitied earthbound men their plight But rode the winds through depth of night The night grew dark the sky grew black The stars in wane held to their track I had wandered far from home Desiring of this flight, I roam Seeing earthbound folk grow slack Beguiled by night but suff'ring lack I met one more in early morn Caught between the world of worn And held aloft in dreams of sky I saw one more, in dreaming fly Although the earthbound all forlorn Cannot fly, they're held by dawn As more escape to touch the stars We soar above the moon to Mars Collective, we will hunt the sky Held by night, beguiled on high While the earthbound in boudoirs Hide away, the night time ours Then the dawn at break of day I return refreshed by prey To the doldrums of my life Beset, behest by earthbound strife Till the night returns in sway Beguiled by night is where I'll stay Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Very good...I liked how the rhyming and syllables jumped from one line to each other, but also making sense. Yes, flying through the sky in the night time would indeed be an incredible feeling. |

Kethry I've taken similar night flights....could feel the wings riding the waves of breeze in this. I liked the way you tied it together using the word, beguiled. |
