THE OLD COUPLE Cruel this night for passing slow. Waiting for the dragging hours to go. Broken there uncertain sleep. Each a watching vigil keeps. "If you come Angel,please take me, Let him sleep,let him be." "If you come Angel,please take me, Let her sleep,let her be." But now the sun is newly up. Dawn announced with tea and cup. A restful day of love to share. Each caressed by the others care. arthur |

This makes me want to cry! I never want to be old- but the saying goes: "never regret growing old, it is a priveledge denied to many." What a great, moving poem, this is going in my library! Thanks. :'( |
