Between a laugh and a tear...

My Well Worn Shoe

It’s the same old story
Fits like a well worn shoe
Caught deep within the pain
Beyond caring, just loving you

There’s little thought
Of right and wrong
When a mind is transfixed
By loves sweet song

You know I hear your call
For just one true friend
But I’m not the sapling
Hearts break, not bend

And so I give my life
To try and be true
But this love won’t die
There’s just no one but you!

Yes I know I shouldn’t
Yet still I have my say
And wonder of the cost
That I’ll come to pay

If it be my fate
Then let me be blue
But please don’t doubt
This love I hold, only for you

We live an' learn from our mistakes
The deepest cuts are healed by faith ~ All Fired Up, P.Giraldo, M.Grombacher & K.Tolhurst

Loved the sweet sound of this....
but it still hurts a little~

No one could call you fickle!

A love tried, true--and blue.

don't know what to say, but your  thoughts are extremely well written!

Eddie

There always seems to be a sadness that comes with loving...and I sure could feel it in this poem.  Hope all works out for you.

I believe Eddie, that if it is a true love, that once loved, always loved and despite what is cliche', time doesn't heal..it never lessens the pain nor lessens the love for another, it just allows you to go on.

hmm..this touches me very much right now...I've watched someone very dear to me going through the same thing; my brother...no one taught us how to love halfway...in loving we sometimes lose a lot...but love is worth the risk...and, well, sometimes we just have no say in what our hearts will do....

hugs, g
