Ruling

We rule this kingdom like a clown
With stars around our head a crown
In truth and in our dreamers plight
We spin this planet day and night.

And I am forced in mental stress
To ask we stop and clean this mess
Or green will turn to sterile gray
And we will lose our right to stay

This is a lesson we must teach
To every form of life and leach
If not we will infect our lie
And wind will whisper us goodbye

I have no clue as to the ruse
But fear the end will cook our goose
And I would cry in subtle sigh
I sort of liked this apple pie

So teach you what you can dear friend
And we may see a better end

We use to think it was difficult just to get
our kids to clean their rooms, right, Sy?
Then we looked at the bigger picture,
and our "room" became the earth & sky...

I learned a couple of decades or so ago that when my folks said "you don't quit teaching, and you never quit learning..." was putting it mildly...

JM,
If we do get swept away, perhaps our dust will meet. Now Would that not be a treat.

You surely touch a topic that should be our priority always ... Great job, dear Seymour. Here it is so hot, that breathing becomes difficult .... also regarding the climate there have been sins for which we pay now.
May we continue to teach and to learn contemporaneously.
Thank you!
Love, Margherita

Seymour, a very important message in your poem this morning! Thankyou for reminding us to take care of Mother Earth. Speaking of apple pie....how about a nice apple turnover with your tea? hugs, Chris

Poignant message this morning, Seymour.  And no matter what the topic of your message each day, I always enjoy your choice of words...and clever how you manage to slip that apple pie in there!  ~K~

The question is:  How does one teach what was never learned...?

Seymour, what a good lesson you have given
us today.......now if we will all take heed
to what we've learned.

Sy...such an important message here,
and presented in lovely verse.
Absolutely wonderfully done, my friend.
