Appetite Lost
~~~~~~
.
.
.
Our favourite table for two
had been moved,
setting me on early edge.
Your chair wobbled as you sat
making too obvious
your imbalance.
The rolls were as stale
as our forced conversation.
When I asked you for water
to quench my thirst,
You lifted the sweating pitcher
to reveal
a bold wine stain,
ruining
the once spotless tablecloth.
As obvious as the scarlett smear
of infidelity
you thought my adoration
would overlook.
Awkwardly you knocked
over my goblet.
But, it had already
been drained.
Not only were you inept
at having a
discreet affair,
You were also uneducated
in erasing
moral blemishes.
So much for dessert....
Check please!!!
IF you had stayed
for dessert, it
sounds as if a
Decadent Sin
Chocolate Cake
would have been in order...
I liked this, Chris!
(big hugggssssssss) Oh Chris, I'm so sorry your entree tasted so bland and sour, dearest friend, you deserve so much more saffron and so much less salt! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Chris, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
Love,
Ooooohhhh...this one really touched my heart, Chris....
and it hurt. I'm so glad things aren't like this for you
anymore. You are too sweet, my friend, to be treated
like this. Well, nobody should be, actually.
Well, you know what I mean, sweet lady. Now I'm
beginning to ramble again.
This was a very good write, Chris.
Hugs
Ethel
Yes, I know what it is like to lose my appetite as well--Unfortunately, far too many of us will identify with your slice of painful reality.
Well done!
Ain't it the truth. When one spreads rumors and lies about the other, and makes a public spectacle..it's no longer discreet is it?
