Smooth as nylons slipping over the sleek calf,
this ride across the arid expanse of cow skulls
and coyotes.   Purring down the black hot
ribbon toward nowhere.

A bottle of Jack sitting in the passenger’s
seat.  Hoping that I can throw it away
soon for another seat cover about 37-24
and Lordy Me....

Wind blowing through the sparse locks of
a dome that has seen too much sun and too
little massaging by some honey in need of
a lift from hell to elsewhere.  Shades covering
the squint as another Marlboro caresses
parched lips aching for something cold and
smooth as well as something hot and sleek.

Ten days since Norfolk was nothing but
another sailor’s port on the darkening
horizon.  Leaving all those swab jockies
and their skivvies behind after taking them
for a quick ride on the green felt.   Nine
ball at 20 a pop.....suckers, always suckers.

Gas, not only in my gut but pouring out
twin exhaust at a pace that even the
space shuttle might have to hustle for.
Damn V-8's.....gas guzzling beasts,
but they scoot.  Did El Paso to Phoenix
in just under 3 and a half hours.   Even
the Bears couldn’t keep up. Fast cars
and faster women, such a pleasure.

Destination.....Nowhere, cause ever
since they stopped giving me orders,
I stopped taking them.  Free spirit
on autopilot and cruise control.
Cruisin’ west into a setting sun,
as the buzzards roost and the
rabbits run.   Listening to Wolf
Man Jack outta Albuquerque
howl the evening away.....

Yeah Chris,  give me a sec.  I'll throw the
bottle out and you can be the cover for the
shotgun seat.  Cruisin west to nowhere...

(smiles) Hey, how about we stop into Chaco Canyon, they say that place is the place furthest away from modern society out of anywhere in the United States! (big hugggssssss) With the coyotes and barrel cactuses, we can strum songs the day away, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Hard wasn't it?

I loved this because I pictured myself riding along...sharing swigs and just not caring about anything else at the moment..thank you for the diversion..
