This morning, a cardinal Lay at my doorstep As if he had died, trying To enter this shack Dressed in hues of desire And dull as this yearning He lay there before me And told me a tale That he was drawn before sunrise To this spot in the darkness By the wails of our wanting And the long pleas of longing Compelled to the window By our cries of completion He impacted the glass Above our slow-cooling bodies And suffered, it seems His own “Petite Morte” Sacrificed to the notion of love He left us his gift of the wings The feathers of flight That held him aloft, drove him along So, half of them, I give to you That we each may devise Our own Icarus wings "In looking Northward, I see a light" [This message has been edited by wranx (09-16-2003 10:15 PM).] |

Tomorrow when the red bird sings outside my window I will dry my eyes and come back to respond as I should. |

Oh my, Ed... This had me in tears after the first few lines and then smiling through them at the end. Only you could take the death of a bird, and turn it into something so absolutely beautiful. What beauty, this, my friend... When the power of love overcomes the |

stunning... I am simply stunned. I read this while listening to Clarinet Concerto, Second Movement, (Mozart) (Coincidentally, ?smile? that is the last concerto he ever wrote...) If you don't have it, I will have to send it to you. I would love to give you something back for this. Beautiful. |

I couldn't stay away from this one, Ed. This one MUST be printed and framed, with cardinal red matting and a genuine custom made wood frame to match the beauty of the write. |

He left us his gift of the wings. I like this line, not quite sure why yet. But it seems to comes from the windings, of that which is to be. Nice Ed. mysticpoe If nothing is something |

How hot the Sun melted days of past drip-dropping cascades of molten tears imprinted eternal beneath me falling to my own death My demise . . . It seems I was this fragile creature determined and dutiful chasing the light finding the dark of reality Shedding my feathers in nakedness of purity for those I loved and love I now hold within my hands Crimson remnants of you to me transcended beyond this plane Not of this Earth but of . . . I bow, humbly to the heavens rejoicing in such gift bittersweet beauty and gather feathers lying about my feet carefully constructing them from one life given selflessly in order to create one life for two This is the most touching and eternal bit of your soul I am so grateful to witness . . . Edward Rose, you are one beautiful man xxoo [This message has been edited by littlewing (09-17-2003 01:03 PM).] |
