The timberland engraves delicate words
of familiarity on the autumn
expanse. Soundless husks rupture. Silver-gilt
petals are flung forth into the twilight
by the fleeting sighs of summer's staying.
Dryads frisk to the aerial tambour
of a Thrush's leave-taking, while unskillful
underbrush plays peek-a-boo with a shy
shaft of light. Brambled footpaths quest for the
resplendence of an indolent streamlet
whose denizens hasp celestial bodies
to the half light expanse and imbibe, with
a swiftness of tongue, my recollections.
Arachnid's buttressing drooping cattails
with flaxen filaments from the waning
daystar, plait harmony into the hush
of my weighted hours. Beethoven who?

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the time you took to read this one. It is something a little off beat for me...and at first I doubted I should post it. Once again thank-you angelblueyes, KristieSue, and Bonfirelight. Your comments are appreciated.

I've seen these places, and walked the edges of the fields or stream.. you paint it well and put it into a perspective that I enjoyed.
