*I wrote this in response to a poem Pilgrimage wrote in response to my poem called Ariendiel...and so it grows. In Ariendiel the fair folk play to mould their dreams from dusty clay while on the other side, near hell are fallen ones from Avra-el the night and light will cross the stream becoming real within the dream the nightmare cast, becomes the real from Avra-el, not Ariendiel The banshee, sprite and elvan lord will play with words that cross their sword and yet the dreamers know too well forged swords, cut deep from Avra-el While Ariendiel, the gift of light plies forth its trade to mend the night for dreams of true, to sway and heal come from that place called Ariendiel The faerie folk who turn the wheel will stand betwixt light Ariendiel and Avra-el, the place of mourn, will hold its space till coming dawn But what is one without the twain? Tis like full moon without its wane. In Ariendiel we hold to light in Avra-el, is endless night All creatures foul or fair at birth each hold their own, each has its worth for what is sun without the rain and what is love without its pain Proud Ariendiel or Avra-el we give these names to heav'n or hell and yet the light and dark both start within a place deep in my heart. Oh Ariendiel I loved you most in you I found a heavenly host, yet I am drawn and I must dwell in deepest dark of Avra-el. Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
