For Her

How often may I walk among
these sweet Elysian fields,
where perfume never meant for men,
each fragrant flower yields?

How often may I rest my head
on heaven's softest cloud
and touch the face of innocence
that God alone endowed?

How often may I feast upon
Ambrosia as my due
and taste this nectar deep and long
'til hunger's pains are through?

How often may a symphony
of sound caress my ear,
cascading tones of beauty born
to worship and revere?

How often am I blinded by
the brilliance of the dawn,
the golden hues of artist's dreams
to which my eyes are drawn?

The fragrance of Elysian fields
lies nestled in her hair,
the comfort of the softest cloud,
her bosom warm and bare.

The nectars of her hidden fruit
are mine each time we kiss,
her voice a simple symphony,
of music tinged in bliss.

And when her face I chance to see
I sigh and slowly melt,
my senses overwhelmed by love
I'd dreamed but never felt

I have felt exactly like this  but with his face.

Hello David

Your words left me speechless and breathless and how lucky is the lady these words were written for.

Here is one of my favourite quotes I'd like to share with you.

"I only wish to be the fountain of love
from which you drink, every drop
promising eternal passion."

Take care......Sue

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind comments, they were well appreciated.....

Nan, I especially wanted to let you know that I finally took the plunge and submitted various poems of mine to various on line publications. My very first rejection came the very next day! LOL. Anyway thanks again for always being so kind in your remarks.
