(This is a tribute to one of my favorite artists ever, but most importantly, a true American, and a true Christian, who forever deserves to grace our hearts with his incredible, steadfast devotion to the Lord, and to the working man and poor, which he dedicated his life to supporting and consoling. God Bless You, Johnny Cash, you are a pure legend...forever!) ![]() (Hello, I'm Johnny Cash!) I'll Walk That Line By: Noah Eaton 9/12/03 Of cowboys last songs and birds on the wire Carnie queens, black sheep children And those who dance in the ring of fire There goes a man in black down there by the train Through the willows and dogwood trees Through the lonely whistle blowing Upon the plains of Texas from the east A highwayman collects his thoughts as he prays... With a family bible tucked underneath his arm Just waiting to purchase a round ticket Breaking the chains from the gangs As he hops a ride upon the Southwind And there goes the orphan of the road Escaping Folsom blues with another song to sing With Father leading him gently back home Upon the narrow, straight road across the prairie... The angel will always defeat the badman And you can't take your guns to town Death and hell are never full Along with the eyes of men worn out And we're all still drunks of this midnight choir Trying to discover our own way to be free We've worn no crown of thorns or worn nail-scarred hands But every day, we talk to Thee... Still they'll be those who never read Poor, beaten down, or never redeemed That is why he wears this long black veil To reach out and feel their pity and grief And until the cowboys laugh and the poor are fed The man in black's ballad will go on one piece at a time And every time I see that beggar leaning on his wooden crutch I'll follow him and walk that line... And down that long, dim trail ahead I can see the man in black blending with the light... . . . . . . ![]() "We share things with you That we think you feel It's a supernatural positive force behind it all He is part of it We hope it makes you feel better "Cause it sure makes us feel better Doin' what we love to do." - Johnny Cash I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (09-13-2003 01:58 AM).] |

He was the absolute nicest man I ever met, let alone superstar. And everything he did was totally genuine. He was the man on stage and off. My head is bowed for Roseanne. I feel I've lost my father again... thank you Noah |

Noah I can't remember a time in my life that Johnny Cash wasn't there in mention, or in song. About 6 years ago or so he did a song that was done like a rock video. I can't remember the name of it, but I have tried and tried to figure it out. I wish someone would tell me. I think it was aired on MTV. I watch, and VH1 but I think it was MTV. If anone knows please let me know. He was a rock, and a part of Americana!!! Amazing human being!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |
