No Regrets

The day is too beautiful to fret
About the past
And slip into the downward spiral
Of discontent steeped in regret.

This moment is too precious to waste
In hurtful memories
and disappointments clutched to the breast,
better not expressed.

After all, the hurt was caused by caring.
Let the misunderstandings slip away
And the spirit be refreshed
In this moment,
Savoring
The delightful day
Not to be diminished by
Dwelling in the unchangeable past.

Seek solace
In this moment
And fully appreciate
Now.

The future will unfold
In it’s own time.
And that will be soon enough.

What a powerful and poignant closing, Bridget. Too often, we dwell in negativity on those things we cannot change. Beautifully written, wonderful message, very much enjoyed.

Best wishes,
/Kit

The lilt to this,
as it was read aloud,
makes it even
more poignant
than you realized...

To learn from the past - and use that knowledge for a better future - When WILL we learn?

This is a lovely verse, Bridget...

My dear Bridget,  I most certainly have "no regrets" for having clicked on this title!

IWIHWT!!! I think exactly the same way--and you have expressed those thoughts superbly!

Indeed in our remembering let us not forget...now.

Bridget...Enjoyed very much. Very wise words. I just loved the ending.

The future will unfold
In it’s own time.
And that will be soon enough.
