Brianna Walking

Sunshine follows her like a pull-toy,
sways to the little curves of her walking,
and even the shadows turn as she goes by.
It’s a mild surprise that she has one at all.
Up the path she goes, skipstepping ahead
of you, between the water and the swing.
I tag behind, though for just now
I have a part to play as well.

Turning, running still ahead, she climbs
the circle stairs with hands, because
they are so tall. I put a hand up close,
not touching, to be taller than the stairs
for her, and on the ledge she helps me too.
Almost shoulder high, she pulls me up
with just a gleeful squeak of smile
and a tiny hand on mine.

Now you’re on the steps.
You take my other hand and
suddenly I’m tall indeed.

It's more of Brianna living...
a lovely write, James...
I had several reasons to smile...

James

Sometimes it's the smallest hand that brings out the most tenderness in a man.  This is charming and lovingly painted and much enjoyed by me.

Each of those small hands melted me in a different way, but melt I most assuredly did!

What a beautiful, tender write! *S* I knew I was going to like this when I read the delightful description of the first line... the certainty of stature is heart-melting. *S*

Oh you brought her from the page, to a living giggling sweetheart in my own room!

Love this tender write, but not as much as she loves you, and you her!

Instant karma's gonna get you.

The height of you
Cannot be measured
In feet and inches
Or metric units
Breadth of shoulder
Is not related
To capacity of heart
No growth chart
Displays a man's
Ability to be tender
Or willingness to care
But loving daddies
Are giants of goodness.
Even seated, they tower
Above other men.

Aye, there are moments that make a man feel complete, feel the man inside himself and know it's good. They happen if you're ready, but it's just not possible to know when one will arrive.

It's important to catch them all, because they're what make life worth the effort.

That particular instant is carved into my heart like initials on a tree.
