Etched in the illusion of time

0 posted 2003-09-06 09:23 AM

he sees me everywhere
like a dream
to float
and chastise dawn's discrepancy
unlike twilight
milky, soft

risen from ashes
phoenix
who cried in the dust
remains
unfound

to dwindle 'pon my fingers
as I pen
words
dripping like ebony tears and
landing
on paper's whitened cheek

sand,
black, black hourglass
draining
with hues of sunset
paled and wizened
no more a portrait of opalescence
but painted
in
my decadence
tonight

word weaver
soundlessly forming little lullabies
on the edges of tongues
unspoken
grievances
are spoken through eyes
of radiance and aging chamomile

mixed with tea

sipped
with lips of hushing elegance
appeased
by fingers
of heightened eloquence
lacing more dew
'tween strands of tangled, cinnamon hair

and he
sees everything about me
yet still laughs
and bends to kiss me
'fore tongue and lips
meet

forming words,
from pen
falling onto paper thin

rendering me silent
sweet poet, interrupted.

For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch,
And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.--"Romeo and Juliet"

Always good to read you.

forming words,
from pen
falling onto paper thin

rendering me silent
sweet poet, interrupted.

This was perfect.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

~ I especially enjoyed these lines!--There are several worthy of repeating!

I'll be keeping this beauty to read again. Thank you for sharing such a delightful write! Your words flow colorfully, with an artist's touch.

(as per your sig? age alone doesn't imply quality visual/mindful experiences. )
