Delayed Reaction It was so many years ago today I heard a nearby detonation It began with a hint of absence fueled and loaded by a cremation Though I'm no longer a child I can remember the sensation No immediate comprehension It was initiatied by degredation The young can bear their wounds without a hint of fleeing taint That autumn night that had a fall Made the north star faint No matter how hard I focus It's hard to put the scene in paint Though to the world he was a man To this child he was a saint |
