the other night-- when all the people had fallen away slunk back into their holes they had been busy digging during the day i was walking around looking for a hole i left long ago finally i just gave up instead of being underground covered by the filth and blocked by the denseness of the earth i decided to breathe clean air true air and the stuff i noticed i saw for the first time the world as it was i saw the olive gardens and moist branches and i was happy the only people for me are the mad ones-mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at once--jack kerouac |
