Talons of gnarled and twisted hands wrenched the cloak of Light from my trembling body. The Darkness consumed me, spiraling me down the fathomless vortex of evil and into the bowels of Hell. My very soul was being sucked into the void. Acrid, sulfurous fumes burned my lungs with every labored breath I drew. With my hands, I tried in vain to drown out the cacophony of tortured screams and malevolent laughter that assailed my ears. My stomach sickened with the stench of scorched, rotting flesh that swirled about me as I plummeted deeper and deeper into the abyss. Faith and hope abandoned me in my hour of need. Where was the saving Hand of God? Where were the heavenly hosts of angels that were to guide and protect me? Was I to be forever damned to roam the putrid halls of the vanquished? Where is the Light? I must have Light! God, please help me! Where are You? With a jolt I was returned to my bed. Instinctively I reached above my head in search for my halo. Relief flooded my body with it's discovery; however, it was lying off to the side! I quickly put it back into alignment! That had been a very close call!
