Mystic morning,
window streams of sunlight;

their song is dimming,

final encore, thunderous applause,
curtsie, take a bow.

Won't you sing for me sweet ones,
just a bit longer?

Look at the grass blinking,
dewy eyed sprinkled with diamonds;
it captured last night's falling stars.

It clings to a wilting summer romance,
keeping dreams alive;
suited in green, it reaps the rain that poured the spring.

And there was you,
this morning,
on the haze of the transition
between the fuzzy feeling of dream and dawn,
soft as candlelight in an Italian resturant.

You're out of focus
starting to resurface now,
as I peel you off the epilgogue.

You should be gone by now.

Even these trees know;
they've watched the dress rehersal all summerlong,
as leaves loosened quickly as new birth began.

Where does winter whither to as spring is reborn,
when each season hangs on the same branch?

These trees were born lamenting, falling leaves blowing winds.

Can we ever be prepared enough for it?

You really should have been gone by now...........

Mann Michele, you do write my thoughts
as well . . .

And there was you,
this morning,
on the haze of the transition
between the fuzzy feeling of dream and dawn,
soft as candlelight in an Italian resturant.

beautiful . . . reminded me of Billy Joel there for a sec *smile*

You know we all have awakenings where the haze of a dream lingers just long enough to make you think, where did this come from. Happens to me all the time. Good presentation and thought process here!

And I'm going to bump it up again, just 'cause I like it.. so everyone else should see the world through your eyes.

It can't be that bad, can it? This poem is so wistfully sad. But there's beauty behind it, and sensitivity to the turnings of the world, anyone can see that. I have a feeling that will win over the sadness, in the reality and in those invisible extra lines that the reader always inserts to make the poem his own.
