With my darkling

0 posted 2003-08-30 05:48 PM

Will I look back then
and see just what I was
will I mark the miles
with the pain that I have caused

and if I could change it now
and do it all again
I would make you smile
I would be your friend

because every thing I did
and every thing I said
will make me so unproud
the day that I am dead

and though I had my days
that I redeemed myself
so many where the days
that I put you on a shelf

And if I could start again
this thing that you make breathe
I know that tempt of God
could never make me leave

But here I am again
in this self made pit of pain
praying once again
for the chance to start again

and you should leave me now
we've been here oft before
another second chance
leaves you hurt
and at my door

I am weak and will
take everything you give
so do what you must so
you can
love your life
and live

inspired by Johny Cash "hurt"

I found that song to be very moving, and this poem, is one for my library, as I find it moves me too.

Jason:

I do know just how much
*smile*

and though I had my days
that I redeemed myself
so many where the days
that I put you on a shelf

If the clock just would have stopped . . .
Beautiful writing Jason

A poem i can relate to. Harsh to hurt the ones you love... but worse to hurt the ones that love you.

YES!

(but it's just 'Hurt')

The Man Comes Around is my favorite CD of the year... but that's another story -- you'd all have to be over 40 to understand it.

The first time i heard about Johnny covering NIN i laughed at the thought. Hearing it i was actually floored, it was better than Reznor's and that's not an easy feat. Rebel you don't have to be 40. Johnny just oozes cool and his voice and words always carry so  much soul
