Someone Danced… Cracks in dry ground inches wide the threat of fire holding in still air elm beetles having desiccated green leaves, leaving for dead any thought of a colorful fall, and we, silently praying hard for respite then clouds began to gather toward the end of this long, hot, summer, building upon themselves, a promise dotting skies here, and there, still, no tears… but a tropical inclination of need gathered, circling overhead northern Cumulonimbus skirting west, southern Cumulus swimming east, until the circle~dance becomes complete as tears breach their watershed spilling over drowning cracks once wide to fill of overflow… and the cleansing, begins. |

Karilea, I'm so glad that it rained and that you could tell us about it so beautifully. I love this... as tears breach their watershed spilling over drowning cracks once wide to fill of overflow… and the cleansing, begins. Hugs to you Ethel |

as tears breach their watershed spilling over drowning cracks once wide to fill of overflow… and the cleansing, begins. Thank goodness...the tears flooded us this week as well. I think it was 19 days without a droplet. As I sit in my school meeting, we heard the thunder...and teachers and principals sighed collectively. Let the tears fall and the cleansing begin! Lovely write, K! Patricia |

I'm going outside as soon as the moon is visible, and do myself a 'rain dance'. The heat is bad enough, but here in SC the humidity is way over the top! Wonderful write Sunshine, great pic too! Made me want rain! Tima |

Now this is music I could drown in Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

This totally enhanced my enjoyment of this rainy day--this has been a dramatic cool down to a hot August! Shenachie |

flows rather nicely. i imagine you would really enjoy an Eastern Indian film, "Lagaan". there is a scene in the movie that is really quite moving, and right near the beginning, where it appeared that a long drought was going to end as storm clouds gathered and the villagers of a farming community danced full of light and joy, singing and playing music. i couldn't do it justice in text, but your poem made me think of this scene, and the movie (which i watched several times because i was so fascinated by it). in India, the film is considered to be the India rival to the Chinese "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (but, no-one flies). |

This is the second time I read this poem, and if I had commented the first time I would have killed two birds with one stone, as I was looking for wornways comment today. This was lovely and the picture is breathtaking Karilea. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (09-02-2003 06:34 PM).] |
