Softly, gently silent, the brown lifeless leaf fell, a metaphor of our lives. So much promise, when we first bud forth into an uncertain world. Vigorously growing and flourishing in every weather, rain or shine. But time ticks, as seasons move apace, so the slow inevitable deacy of age, silently sets in. Bravely we deny the inevitable, holding fast to the last, until the final gust sends us flying in the wind. Laid to earth, we deacy further, life extinguished, feelings gone, we return to our basic level. Now a whisper on the wind, a wash of a wave, a rumour down the decades of time.... |
