Dear Mara... I miss you. I know, it was only two days ago that you sent me away. Two days feels like eternity. My hand is shaking as I write this. I'm so afraid to lose you, but I know that maybe you need to lose me. That's why you'll never see this letter... I don't want you to hurt at all, and the guilt would destroy me if I made you hurt still more. I can be strong for you, I can take the pain by myself, for you, even when you don't want to acknowledge my existence. Mara... the name means bitterness. I will never be bitter towards you. I fervently hope that bitterness will never stain your thoughts of me. I would pray, but I think I've lost that priviledge, so I will instead sing softly to myself of how much I love you, and mourn in silence. |
