City sidewalks never did match my stride,
and the last time you saw me
you couldn't remember my last name.
Funny...but I still remember
how many steps it took to walk
from my house to your door
and how the yarrow grew tall
alongside the wobbly picket fence
that begged for the stroke of a paint brush,
much as I once begged (silently)
for the stroke of a gentle hand across my cheek.

Do you still drink chamomile tea
on sleepy Saturday mornings watching
sunrise songbirds flitting between the pines
as humble holliehocks and poppies
burst forth in a riotous splash of brilliance?
(mocking my foolishness, I think)

But perhaps it was just a silly dream.

Kacy, no, not a dream, far from it
but some days I sure do wish it was
again, a reality

This is lovely

My thoughts ...

closed eyes are where dreams begin
opened eyes are where they live

for a lady with bare cupboards,
       your dreams fill such hunger!

          (back at ya!!)

Yarrow, like poetry, can be used to bind a wound.

I hope getting this out does make things feel better.

Smiling at that reply, Mr Icebox. So true, so true. And yes, poetic release is always cathartic.

OK, so what city should we meet in to start this fun search? LOL, I have a feeling we could get into some trouble if we start in your home city or mine, so we better go off somewhere no one knows us. Hey, maybe we could start in sister Serenity's hometown?

Such an undercurrent of longing and serene resolve...  A beautiful voice though painful in description.  It simply sucks when what we think should be was never meant to be.

Smiling at these comments, waking up to the sound of too many cars in the city, but still having my morning coffee with friends at Pips, like I did in my quieter Alaska mornings when I first joined this board.

Thanks to all!
and Kaile, c'mere for your early morning hug! I've missed you around here...welcome home!
