So face west with me and watch the sun in slow summer slide turn from brilliant heated white to shades of red that burn on lenses and mind until in final fade it slips beneath the sky This time of year the cicadas sing matching heat with buzz till ears ring and we in quiet sweat do find cool waves below to ease ourselves from this the daily bind Moonlight is late to us and reflected stars still stare when wet dripped skin does find the night. Tell me how it is the clouds have gone and how the slight of touch become this so shallow we do not wade into the depths of us? Come, face east for now perhaps the sun will after all come out from that place it hides and we will see the beauty of an early fall |

"Come, face east for now perhaps the sun will after all come out from that place it hides and we will see the beauty of an early fall" Captain...you have outdone yourself with this one... So beautiful...the last stanza allowed the rain to leak from my eyes. Why, did I find this so reflective? As though summer is drawing to a close... and I do not wish for it to.. not yet.. not now. ~Hugs~ ~The breeze that kissed you on the face, |

Yes, yes, yes...you've captured the temps so well with the lazy buzz of the cicadas now melting into the last sounds of summer...where you can touch the air and know that only water is a little more wet to the touch, and you've captured the colors of the west, and east, so well... Ah, Captain...a |

'in quiet sweat do find cool waves below to ease ourselves from this the daily bind" No one, I mean no one, writes like you do...how great would it be to be able to actually do this... I bathe in your words. Susan |

"This time of year the cicadas sing matching heat with buzz till ears ring and we in quiet sweat do find cool waves below to ease ourselves from this the daily bind" Cicadas... Well, I'm not quite ready for fall, but i'd agree that it's been a nice summer to look west. Oh and I'd like to ditto Susan. |

< ourselves from this the daily bind>> < and how the slight of touch become this so shallow we do not wade into the depths of us? Come, face east for now perhaps the sun will after all come out from that place it hides and we will see the beauty of an early fall>> ====================== this has to be one of the best poems I've read in a while, and one I can most relate to...you've quite intelligently described exactly how I've been feeling about this summer, too...TOO LONG...but the imagery and vocab in this is extremely impressive...I guess I don't have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it? just a hang-up call and the quiet breathing of our persian we call cajun on a wednesday... |

So face west with me and watch the sun in slow summer slide turn from brilliant heated white to shades of red that burn on lenses and mind until in final fade it slips beneath the sky =========================== in quiet sweat do find cool waves below to ease ourselves from this the daily bind Moonlight is late to us and reflected stars still stare when wet dripped skin does find the night. Tell me how it is the clouds have gone and how the slight of touch become this so shallow we do not wade into the depths of us? ================================ well ya already know the moth is smiling at the allits ya slipped in. This poem is cooler than even I know... every single word is feast for the senses... and then lets talk about the slow burn in between the lines... moth giddy am I!! So face west with me and watch the sun in slow summer slide turn from brilliant heated white to shades of red that burn on lenses and mind until in final fade it slips beneath the sky how awesome is that.... You rock!!! So does your muse. You're going to hear my voice in the morning calling your name ... |

Tell me how it is the clouds have gone and how the slight of touch become this so shallow we do not wade into the depths of us? Speaking of slight of touch -- this is the very thing! You paint panoramas of emotion, not just scenery. This one captures a bit of life. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
