woman
Ive got your picture
here against my lamp
distracting me from
the creation of my horrocities
the little yellow men
with tears dropping from their eyes
or the ones
who help each other
get on top
are no substitute
for the streamlined contours
of your face
the locks of knotted silk
dallying on your shoulders
those dashing emeralds
that strike me like diamonds
that keep me in a state of grace
even as I coagulate the wounds
that I inflict on another
with worthless hands
with a passion that is best served
in some other capacity

tonight
still has a long time
to go
