How can you try to steal from me
when I have nothing left to take?
You loop around my universe
in weird acentric orbits
of your own design,
defying all the laws of physics
as they pertain to love,
like some possessed psychotic comet
seeking vengeance.

I did not wrong you,
other than I managed to escape,
and stay alive;
this makes me different
from some others I have learned
since checking into Hell.
This doesn't mean
you still can make me stand
and offer up my heart and soul,
in sad pathetic cries,
to placate you,
your ever changing whimsical desires.

I am done with your illusion,
the self deluding hopes and dreams,
that you would not lie,
to me,
in serving up your acts of love
like synthetic canapes leading to a dinner,
celebrations where I was the one
unwanted guest.

I banish you!
When I'm weak with rage
I want to do much more,
but I will not choose
to hook more karmic ribbons,
to my soul,
by seeking vengeance of my own.
I have grown from the disaster
that you called a curiosity,
an entertaining series of events;

I have learned how to hide
while standing in plain sight;
I will not fight you as you soar on by.
I will not cry for you.
I can simply disappear
and leave you searching empty skies.

"wwwwwwwwwwheeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..."

whistling.

Powerful write, m'friend, full of adrenaline tonight:

"I am done with your illusion,
the self deluding hopes and dreams,
that you would not lie,
to me,
in serving up your acts of love
like synthetic canapes leading to a dinner,
celebrations were I was the one
unwanted guest."

I wrote something once along that same thought, mind if I share?

OH good. grin.

"We are not majestic beast
as we always thought we were
we are naught but ragged curr
stealing scraps from feast of king..."

sighs.

I still have a candle left...it's got your name on it now.

Ratleader has pangs of jealousy -- wish I had written this one. You've outdone yourself, icebox...

serenity blaze ~ Thank you for the parallel.  What color is the candle?

Ratleader ~ Thank you for reading it.  Anger is unfortunately a strong motivator.

Aenimal ~ Thank you, Sir.  I appreciate you taking time to comment.

passing shadows ~ Thank you. I think you know how frustrating it can be to think all strings were cut, only to find a few that were over looked.

Very intense and emotive...yes, could feel the anger, and the strength of conviction.

Wow...yes...a very powerful write here, sir.
I felt this one deeply, and heard the pain
and anger in the voice behind the words.

Hugs to you, friend,

Oh I loved this one and wish I had not only written it but recited it to someone once.  It is really hard to get all the mud of your shoes sometimes.  (Psst, I bet your candle is white.)

Great poem! Full of power, intense, well-written. You could kick her in the teeth, but refraining from kicking her in the teeth gains you merit. So you can laugh at her later.
I like this.
