Remember that girl you married in the winter of ninety-three?
Young, and full of hope and dreams that no one could see?

The one that held your baby, and held you hand as well.
Right through all the ditches, into a private hell.

Remember that girl you married on that dreary February day?
Bright and going somewhere, until you took it all away.

The one that stayed behind, waiting and wishing for something better.
The one that could have learned to love, if you had only let her.

She's not around no more, she grew up and figured you out.
She had to learn the hard way what failure was all about.

I know that you don't care about the soul you twisted and tore,
not that it should matter now, since she ain't here no more.

Look at me when I'm talking.Do you recognize this face?
Oh, I'm sure you do, cause I'm the one that took HER place.

That little girl you knew, the one that was scared and afraid...
Got tired of all your gmaes, and from her soul I WAS MADE.

I am nothing like her, this in time you'll see.
I won't let you hurt her, or make a mockery out of me.
