![]() Personal photo Ambleside Beach, West Vancouver ~* Chaotic Tranquility *~ Moonlight glows and shimmers caressing the sea, Filled with fish, shellfish, mammals, and anemone. Shattered mirrors on velvet light up the sky, Its beauty plain to see, then a tear wells in my eye. In each shell is a song, or story to be told, Or in each log on the sand, well traveled and old. I hear the cries of the wind bouncing off the sea, It’s like they share their grieving only with me. How many a ship has her vast body maimed, Do I dare count the souls that her vastness has claimed? And yet we are drawn to the edge of this sea, Her tendrils now cleanse over the likeness of me. How many a rider was saved and gave thanks, Knelt down in prayer on her vast sandy banks? How many has a day’s catch of only one man fed, Sending a family full at night to their bed? I’ve seen whales and dolphins leaping high out of joy, Homes with shelves adorned with lighthouse or buoy, And still I am in wonder over our fascination with the sea, What is this magnetic connection between the sea, you and me? My heart belongs her, she's just part of me. I feel pain with I see trophies caught from the sea. Each year as fishing season once again rolls around. I’m so sorry they strip her of the vast catch they've found. The pecking order of nature is not always fair, Especially to those so sensitive that care. I will never get used to depleting the sea, Or three months of this chaotic tranquilty. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (06-19-2003 10:01 PM).] |

I get the message here and it is a damn shame that we have been taking this last enormous resource so lightly over the past few decades...especially ever since automated fishing techniques came around...some terrible legacy to leave to our offspring!Well reflected ![]() |

Well Sharon, You should know I have not contributed to that depleting process. I was raised a vegetarian. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Thank you all so much. I don't begrudge those that need food honest, but when I see those beautiful big salmon being jagged on the Capilano river for the sheer sport of it and just because they can, it breaks my heart. They are then sold illegally taking away livlihood from those that do it honestly for their income. And Ecrivan, soon we won't have to worry as they are taking way more out than putting back and balance is the key to all things in life, and this one has been upset badly. Thanks for reading this one again. [This message has been edited by Mysteria (06-19-2003 11:47 PM).] |

The sea is a mystery to all of those who have ever laid eyes on her. How well you you have displayed her endless beauty, Mysteria. Just beautiful what you wrote. |

![]() (big hugggsssssssss) Oh Sharon, it is so very heartbreaking, dearest friend, I dream so much of getting to live by the ocean and see it beautiful as always before I die and hope that less boats, less fishermen, less factories along the coast are the future result and our fish can live in a long future to come! (sad sigh) I share the same prayer as you, dearest friend, thank you for this sensitive environmental write, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story |
