~* Sowing Seeds of Need Not Greed *~

Do you see the footsteps left
In the sand of your life?
Or have they been washed out to sea,
By work, worry, and constant strife?

Life is such a fragile gift,
Let's watch our step along its course,
One split second can rewrite our life
Leaving no time for remorse.

Once the pendulum gets shifted,
Any plans we might have sown,
Get changed in that instant
As our loved ones are left alone.

Those who care are left behind
In a dark puzzle of disarray,
Picking up the missing pieces,
Trying to get onto another day.

If we use our internal compass
and search for our balance lost,
We’ll find that family, faith, and friends
Are all-important at any cost.

This gift of life is so very fragile
As day after day we try to balance it all,
We can't loose sight of what matters,
It will soften even the hardest fall.

Family, faith, and friendships
These three ingredients are all we need
As we travel through our lifetime
If it’s our soul we hope to feed.

Try not to confuse want with need,
It’s nothing more than simple greed.

Changing it without recourse.

Dear Mysteria, I so love your poetry.  You zoom in and force the reader to view their life and times close up, and it is lovely.

Thank you dear Lady for all that you do and all that you are.

Though I never considered myself a greedy man, it is hard sometimes not to want (it all)

I came to correct the mistakes in this and there you all were!  I wrote that in the submission box again - as they come to me sometimes like that, and then I copy to word, silly huh?  This was born out of a shopping spree I had, and after it was done I had to question why I did it?  It's too deep     to explain why, but had I gotten to what was causing that behaviour I would have more money in my pocket and less "stuff." Usually I do have my priorities right, but not this one time, AND I had it all delivered to Nan's

How's that for an explanation?  LOL, and thank you all - I will now go practice what I preach and stop some of this "stuff" from arriving.  Was nothing more than a moment of temporary insanity, really!

Very nicely written, Sharon.

But I still want it all!
LOL, of course I do, so I can give it all away to SOME ONE else, who almost always needs it more than I do.
Is this a confession from our favorite shop-till-you-drop poet?

So funny, now you've gone and made more work for yourself by having to return all the stuff you didn't need in the first place.
The sentiment is wonderful no matter what you say.

Have a safe trip Mysteria and lots and lots of fun. hugs~

Sharon,
This time I agree with Poet deVine. Print it and hang it on the wall.

Sharon, I think that  I  need  to frame this and hang it on the wall...

. . . and maybe a little fire and a couple of sharp sticks?

But I think you are right, greed has pretty much got us by the short hairs.  We'll pay one day . . .

And LOL at your comments... here I was thinking you were putting your shopping in perspective... instead, you were on a guilt trip! LOL

Your words are as wise as they are beautiful. *S*

Sharon, the important thing here is that you recognize what you did. So many people do not and 'greed' can destroy their lives and the lives of loved ones.

We all have moments when we do things and question 'why.'

I can't wait to see you and hmmm...no shopping or yes shopping in Boston!
Hugs, Marti

Well even I learned from what I wrote in this one friends, so thank you so much.

Hey Nan, it's easy ... you don't worry about all that rhyming business or iambic tootsies, or any of that stuff.  You just sort of write something to or about yourself, then go find a pretty picture to match.  Try it - even a good writer like yourself can do it with practice, and if you need help let me know okay?

(big hugggssssssss) That is one misconception that is destroying this world right now, and I see the chasm between those who want and those who need growing each day with the corrupt politics and lack of compassion! (sad sigh) I pray soon greed can be eradicated and everyone can find what they need, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
