Faith I have kept your words as you have asked: sacred close to my soul; with faith...hallowed…sacred I believed! In this foundation; constructed of solid rock We had plans of building mansions with grand halls And I believed! Our castle would be magnificent The admiration of many, for years to come I believed! in this trust and promise. I held strong through spring’s active bloom. We planted gardens and put forth roots. I believed! our gardens would produce glorious fruit. For such a bountiful harvest I believed. I believed! in the trust of our promises yes those vain illusions of sand castles and gardens of plastic flowers There were no roots; a simple harvest of wax fruit. Upon the table of hollow dreams where I sit as oceans of waves cascade and melt this mansions walls and grand hallowed halls I so carelessly formed on figments in my imagination. I believed in a promise of your subtle deceit. wpwpoet re052903© |
