I recently took a trip tto Derbyshire where I slightly changed my views on Nature, this is unfinished really but say what you think. Stand in the middle of a field, still, silent, just listen. Do you hear that? You can hear it in the whispers of the wind in the tiny beats of every bird's heart in the trickle of that straining stream, upon every single tiny pebble on its bed dripping, slowly. Nature is still breathing, Nature's heart still beats. Lie still there for just a moment and if you're lucky, she will sing to you, ever so soft, delicate, but beautiful. Breathe too deeply and you will snap the chords of her sounds as so many have done before sighing in peace at her precious melodies her whispers her whimpers. As you gaze up at the heavens, gaze long enough and you just may see one cloud devoid of urine soaked stains pure white. Yet be overcome with melancholy. Beautiful eyes are all the remain and they rarely open, catch them while you can. The heart still beats, in silence. The voice still mourns greater than the Sirens, sadder than her tears that fall from the skies. She is beautiful but dying. |

A sad ending to a well done poem...but it makes you think. ~Elizabeth Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

This is a beautiful poem. The ending was sad, but it is still beautiful. "To be in love with love is truly to love".....by Paladin |

Really enjoyed your poem, as indicated, a touch of melancholy at the end, but an enjoyable read. |

You have truely captured natures quickly dieing beauty. In our ignorance we are killing her and bypassing her wonders. Perhaps your poem will enlighten some more people as it has enlightened me. Great Job! ~*Summer*~ |

This made me cry. I too feel the earth is alive and we are slowing killing it. What will it take to make people realize what a murderer we really are to this sacred world? |
