Sitting in my motel room,
(LongJohn's right next door)
Nearly going crazy,
Really getting bored.

LongJohn and I went downstairs,
To guzzle down some beer,
Saw two fat guys and a pretty gal,
Sitting very near.

They got up and left,
Only a moment passed,
I walked over to their table,
Touched the mouth of her wine glass.

LongJohn followed me,
After downing his last sip,
When he approached the table,
He stole the waiter's tip.

Toe,
I hope you reported him. Otherwise you're an accomplise!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I had customers like that back in the days when I was waiting tables... you wouldn't believe how many people lay down a tip as they pay the bill with largesse... only to palm the tip as soon as the others in their party aren't looking. *G* I have one word for them... McDonald's. LOL

Shame on you, sailor!!! *G*

Just-goes-ta-show-ya, ya can't trust nobody!---and he has such an honest face!

Now as for your poem, Dear Toe, that was truly rich! Gave me my morning smile and chuckle! Thank you!

I knew a friend of my father's who would say he left something at the table and would come back and take the tip..so my father  from then on, would hand the tip to the waitress instead.

Sigh, the romance, touching her wine glass. I'm transported. Oh, and it's funny, too.
