The wind whimpered with gale winds That homeward to roost the birds it sends Over clear lakes with white rimmed sands To woven branches to roost it lands. Leaves roughly ripped from bowing trees Reluctantly lets it’s greenery to flee To fall into streams rushing to the lake Swirling which ever direction it takes By the rocks beneath roosting bird call Flying in the mist over the waterfall. I watch from my perch well won As clouds hurry to cover the sun I have made this tall climb alone To watch where the wild is home And wait for the storming to begin And wash away my passage’s sin. Gloom Inspired by the T’ang Dynasty’s great poet Du Fu from the poem of the same name. |
