I will clothe myself in sky
and plant one foot upon the earth
the other will be washed by tide
as fire plays the dance of mirth.
Stars will gather in my hair
lightning loosed by chant of tongue
gather herb in fold of skirt
quickly while this day is young.
I free the night from heaven's rule.
I greet the golden orb.
Walk with me into the wood
I tell will ye tales of yore.

"Children of the gatherers!
We remember ways of seed--
here there is no finger's blame--
the only path beneath the feet.
To stray is but a following--
shadows stroll behind a lead--
I caution you, don't follow me.
But I pray you'll meet me there."

Here is parting of the ways
for truth is something you must find...
so meet me in the forest--deep--
there you'll find a gasp of sky
once shaded by the branch of oaks--
two which cradled witches souls
graves of sister sacrifice
memorial to burning times.

"As above is so below."
Keep this vow of witch's rede:
"As ye harm none, do what thou wilt"
remembering that will is free...
Gather berries on the way,
herbs and flowers for the feast.
Meet me at the opening
in the center of the wood.

Karen...I love the picture this paints in my head...

"I will clothe myself in sky
and plant one foot upon the earth
the other will be washed by tide
as fire plays the dance of mirth.
Stars will gather in my hair
lightning loosed by chant of tongue
gather herb in fold of skirt"

and this...

"so meet me in the forest--deep--
there you'll find a gasp of sky
once shaded by the branch of oaks--
two which cradled witches souls
graves of sister sacrifice
memorial to burning times."

and, of course, this...

"Gather berries on the way,
herbs and flowers for the feast.
Meet me at the opening
in the center of the wood."

It's a date!

This is wonderful, Karen...a song, indeed.

Smiling at you...

Love ya, witchy woman.

Nothing touches you when you write like this...
I do so love when you candle dance baby...
The imagery in this alone is worth poetic gold...
high inspire me lovely good witch..
Glenda has got nothing on you when you braid your hair with stars.
and ya know what the best thing is....

"Part 1" means there will be MORE.

Thanks good people, (and Chris, YES, I'm getting to the point of it, soon. )

Wanted to pop in and say thanks for reading tho. And I don't want to flood the forum, but there is more to the legend, and I hated to just RUN through it...but perhaps part III will be tweaked to my satisfaction by um, TODAY? shrug. I never know.

Hugs all.

Happy Lammas to you.

Now go feast.

meeting you..yes
my middle name

is there

this is YOU
focused
I can see
you
an ocean wave
among forest flickersun
rising and falling
with gaiety
lit by him
not by her

holding the dress up
to carry the harvest
