my soulful companion i cannot contend with your questing mystery there is a glacier that divides us across this impassable waste and i am at a loss for means of justified ground i was always bent on following you through the heaps of forgotten thoughts genderless in my love vulnerable to your difficult fingers i weep the loss of grace of a lifetime and you eternally powerful in your crushing beauty could never realize the bleeding devotion and single passion i stumble hopelessly into could you endure ceaseless nights bound to my side without guilt your young fledgling who would be the shameless creator of innocent perfect gardens merely to take away your lonliness who would rather be a penniless mother to your heart than queen of a sunlit island haunted by the absence of you smile could i claim the darkest hour of your soul and destroy its menace sweeping the cinders from under your foot you know i would and more my beloved companion you have weathered the changing tides of my theology and shouldered the desperate convalescence of my heart wrapped in black and sailed against a merciless shore i watch in quiet solitude as our victories and pushed under and away the hardness of your eyes prevents me from flailing out and sinking to recover our open adoration i walk now through rooms of defeat a ghost of my own making destroyed by lack of courage and you a once upon a time grateful dream flooding my deepest nights you are tied to the stone that broke through my most colorful imaginings proving my warped spirit that love can flourish in the most negelected and savage of gardens you my sweet eyed and patient companion |
